I’m Crystel Franco-Cortez—lead hairstylist, makeup artist, and founder of Crystel Does Hair. Long before I ever worked behind the chair, my love for beauty started as a child. I was completely obsessed with Barbies—cutting their hair, styling their looks, sketching outfits, and pretending I was a fashion designer creating custom wardrobes. I didn’t know it then, but those playful moments of creativity were shaping the artist I would one day become.

That early passion grew into a career that spans over two decades in the beauty industry. I began behind the chair creating transformative looks and eventually found my calling in bridal hairstyling and makeup artistry for weddings and special events. Over the years, my work has evolved into something deeper—focusing on enhancing natural features, creating balance, and designing looks that feel effortless and personal to each client.

What I love most about this work isn’t just the finished look—it’s the experience. The quiet moments before the ceremony. The energy in the room. The trust my brides place in me during one of the most meaningful days of their lives. My goal is always to create a calm, curated process where you feel comfortable, supported, and truly celebrated.
